It’s In Your Worship

Psalm 150:2 Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.

Many of us are in a crushing season. During this season we are being pruned, purged and like the sugar cane we are being extracted to produce or reveal a better version of ourselves. God often takes us through this season when he is prepping us for a greater work, something bigger and better. He takes us through this season when he is about to give us the things that we have been praying for. When he is about to take us to another level. It is known as a season of growth and a season where we mature more spiritually. We are forced to face some harsh realities and to face some negative feelings and emotions. These negative feelings and emotions could have occurred because of more recent events while others may still be lingering from old wounds of the past. Either way they must be addressed and healed. There is no way to get around it; however, it’s in our worship that God is able to heal us, deliver us and set us free. No matter how crushed our spirits are or how broken we may feel, it is necessary that we look to God for strength and power to worship him anyway. In this moment I’m reminded of the three Hebrew boys: Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego. These three were Daniel’s buddies and just like Daniel they refused to worship anyone other than the one and true living God. They knew that through their worship they would overcome the schemes and the plots of King Nebuchadnezzar and his men. They knew that through their worship they would receive divine protection, divine provision and divine breakthrough. Now the King wanted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to worship a golden image of his choosing and he made a decree that whoever did not fall down and worship at this image would immediately be thrown into the fiery furnace. That did not sway the boys at all. They stood by their God and refused to worship anything else. This made the King angry and he commanded that the furnace be turned up seven times hotter than usual and the boys were tossed in. In the furnace the three Hebrew boys may have been afraid  and definitely uncomfortable but they knew that through their praise and worship God would rescue them and set them free. They knew that through their praise and worship God would hear from heaven and send protection for them and guess what? He did just that! God released his angels to encamp all around them in the furnace. The people including the King were amazed because the boys were not burned at all. Neither did they smell of smoke. It was through their commitment, praise and worship of their God were they able to face and endure the crushing of the furnace, the crushing of the King and the crushing of the Babylons but they proved to be trustworthy and obedient; therefore, they were able to receive the blessings of the Lord, the promise. So I remind you as I remind myself that it is in our worship that we will be able to get through the pressing, the crushing and the extracting and finally receive the promises of the Lord; however, the only way to get through this difficult season is to TRUST God!!!!

Hi everyone. I'm Nekitta Sutton. I've experienced major disappointments, setbacks and losses in life. During those times I had to hold on to my faith and find strength to continue on. Through the trials and sufferings I realized that I was more than a conqueror, I was a survivor. I began to gain knowledge and grow as a person by activating my faith and reading God's word. My hopes are to encourage the masses so that you will be able to regain control over your life and start living again as well. It takes a lot of work and can sometimes be painful but I do know that it's possible and well worth it.
