I know that we all want everything that God has promised us. We want to recieve every blessing that has our name on it. If we are ready to walk in our new, we have to level up. To level up means to progress to the next level. I found a really great example in the urban dictionary. The example uses a video game to describe what leveling up is so that we can better understand it.
When a player of a video game has earned enough experience points they can acquire a new level. It went on to say that it is accompanied by the ability to weild new weaponry, access new places or begin new assignments. This is the same way we must look at it on our spiritual journey and in our lives. In order to make new connections, to gain new assignments, to go to new places we have to level up. When God feels that we have done the work, that we have gained the necessary experience, he will then catapult us to another level. This other level could be a job promotion that we have been desiring for quiet some time, a better vehicle for our family, a different career path that we’ve been seeking, an expansion in our ministry or in our business. God will launch us into our destiny, into our purpose once we make the decision that it’s time to level up. Sometimes doing the work can be hard, draining, tedious and uncomfortable. Through the process we also may feel overwhelmed, stressed, anxious and fearful but when those feelings arise just know that God is right there with you. Holding your hand, protecting you, comforting you, leading and guiding you. Just know that God is there perfecting a greater work within you.
We must never get comfortable with living beneath our worth/value. We can not become besties with mediocracy and stagnation. We have to change our thinking by renewing our minds with God’s word everyday so that we can move to the next level. Never become complacent with not having enough. On the flip side we must not get too comfortable with just having nice things. The word tells us that, ” What profits a man to gain the whole world but lose his soul”. There is always room for growth and we need change to sustain us, to keep us humble and to feed our souls and spirits. 1 Samuel 2:26 states ” And the boy Samuel continued to grow in stature and in favor with the Lord and with the people”. It’s time to grow. It’s time for change and guess what….It’s time to level up so that we can be in position to recieve all that God has for us!!!!
